Founded in 1930 by Leslie Jay, trading as Leslie S Jay Opticians, the company was originally sited in Rye Lane, Peckham, London UK.
Since 1976 the company has been headed by his son Brian Jay, operating under the name of Jay Opticians and based in Peckham’s Aylesham Centre.

The spacious Peckham showroom has allowed the company to expand its testing facilities and workshop, offering a variety of frames, contact lenses and fashionable designer sunglasses all at competitive prices.
In addition to the Peckham practice, Jay Opticians operates from Sydenham – which has recently had an extensive refit enhancing all aspects of the practice.
Mr Keith Potter has recently joined the Company as manager of Sydenham; bringing over 18 years of experience.
