Eye
examinations
Eye
examinations are an important health check that should be carried
out at regular intervals.
For adults this usually means every two years, and for children between
six months to two years, dependant on the child.
Not only do our optometrists check your vision, they also check the health
of your eye. During this examination such conditions as cataracts,
high blood pressure, Diabetes and Glaucoma can be detected. Your ocular
history will be discussed at the beginning of the exam to determine any
problems you may be experiencing.
Each individual has unique optical needs, so it is important that changes
to your sight are corrected and spectacles supplied if needed.
Your Optician will be happy to explain these changes or answer your questions
in terms easy to understand.
Finally a copy of your prescription will be given to you and spectacles
recommended if beneficial.
With a large range of spectacle frames available including designer
labels, spectacles are now a fashion statement as well as a practical
tool.
Lenses are also following this trend and you can now have them
made thinner or lighter;
anti reflection coated to give a better cosmetic appearance and help against
glare.
For those in need of a prescription for distance and reading there is
the alternative to the bifocal where you can see the reading portion
Varifocals. These give your distance correction through intermediate
to reading without any line or circle.
Lenses can also be supplied that change colour in the sun.
Depending on your prescriptive needs, the choice is yours
